As announced earlier, The CartoPhilatelic Society will be attending the World Stamp Show 2016 being held in the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, May 28 through June 4, 2016. This is a very major event and we are excited about our participation. We will be having a table in the Society’s area. Close to 60 other philatelic Societies will be represented during the show. We plan to staff the table during the event to promote the Society and attract new members and will be asking for volunteers to help.
On May 29th the 6th Meeting of the CartoPhilatelic Society will be held from 10:30 am until 12:00pm in Room 1E11. A tentative agenda for the meeting is shown below.
- “Maps on Stamps” a PowerPoint presentation by Miklos Pinther on collecting miniature maps (40 min.)
- “Don’t Lick the Stamp” an illustrative lecture by Martin Oakes on organizing and writing up a collection (15 min.)
- “CPS Web Site and Digital Projects Update” by Reese Plews (15 min.)
Please take a moment to let us know if you will be at the show and plan to attend our meeting or if you can help by volunteering at our table by filling out our online form. You can also use the form to communicate directly with our Society organizer for the show, Mr. Miklos Pinther, president emeritus of the CartoPhilatelic Society.
Be sure to watch this page for more information as the show nears. Hope to see as many of you as possible in NYC!
