The 7th meeting of the CartoPhilatelic Society is scheduled to be held during the joint American Topical Association (ATA)/American Philatelic Society (APS) StampShow 2018, in Columbus Ohio USA, August 9-12, 2018. The date and time for the meeting along with the proposed agenda, will be announced later. This will be a great show, with about 100 dealers and 900 exhibit frames, plus many seminars and society meetings. Details about the show, including hotel reservations, are available at https://stamps.org/STAMPSHOW-SS.
Help is also needed to staff the ATA booth on the show floor. If you plan on attending during the week and can volunteer an hour or two, that would be greatly appreciated. Please contact if you plan to attend StampShow 2018, and if you can help at the ATA booth. We look forward to seeing you in Columbus this August!
Update: There were issues which prevented the January issue of TNCP from being dispatched through the MailChimp service. If you are a digital subscriber and have not received issue 64 please check your email and contact Martin. We will try again to use the MailChimp service for the April issue dispatch. As that time nears, more status will be posted.
Digital subscribers receive a quarterly email from Journal Editor Martin Oakes with a link for downloading the newest edition of Society’s award winning Journal, The NewCartoPhilatelist. Beginning with the October issue, we will be trying a new email delivery service called “MailChimp” for sending out those messages and verifying receipt. In the coming days be sure to look for that message in your inbox or possibly your spam folder. Use the contact form to contact Martin the editor or the web admin if you have any questions or feedback.

| Ed Vallery |
We are saddened to learn that Ed Vallery, one of the stalwarts of The CartoPhilatelic Society, has passed away in November 2017, at his home in New Hampshire, USA. Ed was an avid collector of maps on stamps and an officer of the Society, having served as Treasurer from 2010 to 2015. He could also be counted on to offer clear ideas on business matters of the Society, usually sprinkled with his characteristic good humor. His welcoming messages and gentle dues reminders enabled the Society to stay in close touch with its members. On behalf of all the members we extend condolences to his wife Elaine and their family.
Officers of The CartoPhilatelic Society

The January 2018 issue of TNCP is the 60th edition of the Society’s flagship publication!
In order to give everyone plenty of time for preparing some content for this milestone issue, Our Editor, Martin Oakes, has chosen the following date as the deadline for article submissions to the Journal:
TNCP #60, January 2018, submission deadline: January 15, 2018
If you are interested in submitting an article please contact our Editor, as soon as possible. Martin has indicated that content is needed for this issue, so please contact him as soon as possible with your draft or ideas for a submission.
Before beginning your article, please download a copy of the “TNCP Style Sheet – Instructions to Authors.”
Remember there are many options for Journal content and Martin will be happy to discuss them with you. Recent issues of the Journal have been 20 or sometimes 24 pages. This is due to the wonderful amount of content that members have been submitting. Lets have the 60th issue be overflowing with content! The added pages will continue, as long as there is sufficient material available. Remember if you have feedback, please be sure to share with Martin or use the general contact form.
What better way to start off the New Year than
with an submission to
The New CartoPhilatelist Issue #60!
Nov. 11, 2017: TNCP Editor, Martin Oakes has informed us that Issue 59 was mailed to hardcopy members on Nov. 11, 2017. Hardcopy members should be receiving the printed issue shortly. Thank you for your patience.
Oct. 29, 2017: The PoD service we use for printing, MagCloud (a division of Blurb), has recently made some unannounced changes to the procedures for printing and shipping of the Society’s journal. These changes are causing a delay which we expect to resolve soon. The officers of the CartoPhilatelic Society regret the delay in shipping TNCP 59 to our hardcopy subscription members. The latest edition of the Society’s award winning journal, TNCP #59, was distributed electronically, through download link, to our digital subscribers on October 20th. Please remember that members who have a current hardcopy subscription may also download any of the journals in digital editions (PDFs) from the “TNCP Member’s Only Archive.” Access credentials for the archive can be found on page 19 in issue #57, April 2017. – Martin Oakes (Editor)
