The CartoPhilatelic Society Resource Centre (RC) is now open. The RC is a new members only password protected service from the CartoPhilatelic Society. This new website site has redesigned the access to the Society’s Journal Archives. The main feature of the RC is the ever-growing list of indispensable reference citations – submitted by you, our members – to aid in cartophilatelic research. An expanded list of internet links as well as a section for RC Projects is being planned. Member Lloyd Field has volunteered to be the Resource Curator and will be your point of contact when you submit new reference citations, links, and content to the RC. The RC site can be accessed using the CPS Resource Centre link under the “Resources” menu option. Once you access the RC site you can bookmark for easy access. Access credentials for the RC can be found on the last page of the October issue of TNCP No. 75 and is a service for current members of the CartoPhilatelic Society. The Member’s Only TNCP Archive has been updated with the last three issues. The Table of Contents listings have also been updated. The TNCP Archive is available to current members. TNCP No. 48 is an expanded issue of 24 pages. Please see the Table of Contents listings for information on these very interesting and richly detailed issues. – web admin] 2013-12-30 (23:30 UTC) After a discussion with the Officers, the Forum and CPS Exchange pages have been removed. Unfortunately the Forum was not largely used and became difficult to manage due to spam posts. The CPS Exchange was dormant for a number of years and did not take off as was hoped. If you are interested in participating in an online philatelic community, please have a look at these two, very fine forum sites: Stampboards, a very active, large and well established site, and also Stamp Exchange, a newer and increasingly active forum. Please note that the CPS is not endorsing either of this forums, but only wanting to pass along this information to our members. There have also been updates to the base software which runs our site. Please use the contact form if you are having problems or any questions about our site. Did you know you can receive an email message automatically whenever new content is updated to the web site? Signing up for this service is easy. Below the menu bar, in the upper right hand corner of the web page, are two small icons, one for “By RSS” and the other for “By Email.” When you press the “By Email” letter icon, a new screen will appear with a dialog box for you to enter your email address and then complete a security “captcha” test, by correctly entering the distorted characters that are shown in the image. After you complete the “captcha” test the system will send you a confirmation email. You need to respond to that email by clicking the link contained in the email. When you do that, the system will then send you an email when new content is added. Please contact us if there are any problems in using this function. |
